Day 26 : How to make the perfect Poached eggs

Another wonderful variation in the preparation of eggs is the poached version. Silky and delicious, these are one of the most favorites breakfast item. Though it can be intimidating at first, but once you know the tricks and have prepared it keeping that in mind, there’s nothing stopping you to make those perfect little poached eggs.

Tips to remember:
* Always use fresh eggs. They make a whole lot of difference. I’l do a post on how to know if your eggs are fresh soon.
* The water shouldn’t be very hot. Just a slight simmering hot will do.
* Add the egg in one single motion.

Now over to the recipe.

Ingredient:
1 fresh egg
1/4 tsp vinegar

Method:
Heat water in a pot. The water should be simmering hot where you can see movements in the water.
Add the vinegar.
Crack open an egg and keep it ready.
Using a fork, create ripple like waves in the water.
Slowly add the egg into the water, making sure that the white goes in first.
Leave for about 3 minutes. Using a slotted spoon, remove the egg and place on a kitchen paper for the water to leave.

Serve hot with toast.
