Taking care of our hair is one of the most important step in our self care routine. We use expensive shampoos, subject our hairs to lovely treatments and take care to trim them up regularly. But what about its very best friend – the comb! When was the last time you actually cleaned them? By cleaned, I mean not just removing the strands of hair but a proper cleaning with soap and water. To maintain those beautiful locks it is necessary to clean our hairbrushes once in a while. Our hair will remain healthy and strong.

This is how you can get your brushes clean again.

1. Using a toothpick – The first step to a clean comb is to remove the hair tangled onto it. If you haven’t cleaned them in a long while, you will be facing a comb with hair tangled in such a way that it becomes quite impossible to remove them by hand. That’s when a toothpick will come to your rescue. Gently insert the toothpick between the bristles and push out any dirt or hair from them.

This detangler brush from Crave Naturals is a life saver. They remove the tangles in our hair in such a way that you neither have loss of hair nor pain in your head from all those pulling.

2. Warm water and shampoo soak – Next step is to soak them in a bowl of warm water and 3 drops of shampoo. Leave it for a while. Slightly brush with your fingers to remove oil and dirt.

3. Dry – Using a clean tissue paper, wipe the comb. Leave it for remaining drying on its own.

Repeat this procedure once a month to maintain the cleanliness of your brushes and improve the health of your hairs.

  1. I agree that this is an important part of hair care. In the past, I’ve used a comb to clean my brush and vice-versa. Thanks for the tips and for sharing with us this week at Celebrate Your Story.
