You switch on the stove to cook your family’s favorite dinner. Toss in all the ingredients and wait for it to cook – stirring and seasoning in between. Then you get a little distracted by the tv show your husband’s watching or the homework your child has to submit. And before you know it —- booof!!!! Your dinner is burnt and the pot stares back at you like its charcoal. We have all been there, right?! No matter what the distraction is, we do get our utensils burnt once in a while.
However, what annoys me is the cleaning that needs to be done later. You can’t just keep on tossing out your pans every time such an accident happens. After countless methods and scrubbings I came to a conclusion that there cannot be a better solution than the one I am going to tell you. Three simple ingredients and with minimal scrubbing, you will have your pots ready as new. The 3 ingredients are – hot water , vinegar and baking soda. ( Yeah, I know, the internet speaks of miracles that baking soda can do. I didn’t believe it until it worked for me. And yes, it really works.)
Here is what you need to do. Fill the burnt pot with hot water ( till the burnt areas are covered). Add 1 cup vinegar and 2 tbsp baking soda. There will be fizzes all over. Wait for 5 minutes. Using a spoon scrape the burnt food (It will come out easily). Now scrub a little to remove the remaining.
You will have your pan ready as new. The before and after image of my burnt pot speaks for itself.
Do you have any other trick that has worked for you? Do let me know in the comments section. After all, we all wanna save our favorite pans ! 😉
