Trifle is one of the most loved desserts of all times. Why shouldn’t it be, after all the custardy and jelly goodness is enough to melt ones heart and make them fall in love with it. This is one of the fool- proof desserts at my place. Usually I make it in one big bowl. But this time I decided to make in individual cups. Of course the concept remains the same – cake, custard, fruits and nuts, and topped with cream.
( serves 2)
1 cup custard ( This can be prepared with the ready to make custard powder)
1/2 packet jelly ( I have used a cherry flavored jelly)
100g plain cake
1 cup chopped fruits ( pineapple, strawberry and apples)
2 tbsp chopped nuts ( pistachios and almonds)
1/2 cup whipped cream
Grated chocolate or powdered chocolate
Prepare the custard and keep aside.
Prepare the jelly and allow to set.
In a setting bowl, place the cake at the bottom. Top it with a layer of custard and jelly. Add chopped fruits and nuts. Add a layer of cream above it.
Garnish with kiwis and chocolate.
Refrigerate for a while. And serve cool.
