DIY : Lip Pouch

There’s no such thing as having too many lipsticks. It’s amazing that a lipstick can make a day far much better. So if you’re having a bad day, then put on some lipstick and attack. πŸ˜‰ Or better still, grab yourself a cloth in your favorite lipstick color and sit down to make this gorgeous lip pouch. A cozy place to store all your lipstick gems. Perfect for keeping your cosmetics during travel. Super stylish and easy to make. No, I am not kidding. If you have an hour on your hand, then you’re done.

I saw this first on A Beautiful Mess . I fell in love with it. What can be cuter than a lip shaped pouch to carry your favorite shades.

Things required:
Main front and back fabric ( I used a bright red color in cotton)
Lining fabric ( I used red with black polka dots)
A zip

First, draw the lip shape on a piece of paper and cut it. This is particularly helpful as you can alter it many times to get the perfect lip shape.

Place the measurement on your cloth and cut the fronts ( upper and lower lip) and the back.
Same for the inner lining.

Now sew the zipper onto the bottom lip.

Attach the upper lip.

Cut the zip for the desired length ( I wasn’t able to find a zip of smaller length so I took a long zip and cut it short based on my requirement )

Now place the front fabric onto the back ( right sides facing each other ) and sew along the edges. Leave a small portion of the zip open as you have to turn your fabric right side out.

Now for the lining part. Place the front lining fabrics over the back lining fabric ( right sides facing each other ) and sew the edges. Instead of the zip in the center, fold it and iron over.

Now hand stitch the lining into the main pouch.

Isn’t it looking cute. Makes me want to grab my lipstick a little more! πŸ˜‰
